We recently bought our first Haas CNC vertical machine center
here at Lift Truck Scale Co. We also bought a HRT 310 rotary trunion with an A-frame support. We hired Dave Benadum to design
the risers, table, fixture plate, and all the pieces to support it. Dave also programmed our main production part, spending
a lot of extra time programming to make it easy for a novice like me to edit. He also spent many hours teaching me the machine
and its functions, and has been great with follow up support!
With a lot of work, I am now proud to say that we can
machine our piece in one-fifth of the time that we have in the past. We went from moving the piece fifteen different times
to two! Our cycle time is now less than one and a half hour, where before it was over ten hours per scale! Hiring Dave saved
us many problems since he has been doing this for so many years. Don’t take my word for it, ask around, every person I asked
about Dave said “oh, Dave is the best”. I look forward to working with Dave in the future!

The above picture shows a 32 Station Hydraulic Vise on the opposite side that the Scale Op is ran with the hydraulics running off a Tailstock Support w/Hydraulic Break. This was added
16 months after the initial project. This solution gave the capability of rotating the fixture freely with no possibility
of hydraulic lines getting wound up. The Hydraulic Break incorporated within the Support is automatically triggered by the
Rotary Break Signal and added extra Rigidity to obtain Heavier Cuts and better Tool Life. Both the Scale Sub Plate and
Hydraulic Vise are left on each side of the Trunnion at all times providing Quick Changeovers of Two totally different
Set-Ups. (Picture
